The Owl and the Pussycat

It was a delight to work with Shani and Luke on their March wedding at the Dome in the Auckland Museum this year. Shani had designed the wedding invitations with reference to the Owl and the Pussycat. Inspired by the innocent storybook nature of the theme we created a sweet and innocent style for the bridal party and table flowers. For the tables, quilted jamjars tied with stripe ribbon were filled with palest pink dahlias, blue hydrangeas and tweedia. Paper flowers were tied to the aisle chairs for the ceremony and the girls all carried armfull's of dahlias, roses, hydrangeas and soft grey foliages.
A stunning couple, a fabulous looking wedding.

Harriet and Jamie - Mantells January 2011

Mantells is one of our favourite wedding venues and located just over the road from our shop. The decor, full of beautiful antiques and muted colours was perfectly suited to Harriet and Jamie's elegant vintage styled wedding. We used a mix of washed out coffee coloured roses and cream lizianthus for the bouquet's and buttonhole's to create an old world look and to compliment the bridal gown and bridesmaid's mismatched dresses.

Dahlia's for a Summer wedding

Our favourite blooms, Dahlias, were the feature flower used in the January wedding of Emma and James. Muted pinks, apricots and mauves were used to tie in with the pretty feminine hues worn by Emma's bridesmaids.

Waiheke wedding-Davida and Chris

The beautiful surrounds of Waiheke island make for stunning summer weddings, the beach, the vineyards, the sun..... perfect!
Davida and Chris decided on Delamore Lodge for their January wedding, cream and dusky pink being the theme.

We used vintage coloured hydrangeas in enamel jugs for the table arrangements and Davida carried a voluptuous bouquet of avalanche, sweet avalanche and talea roses.
Thanks to Emma from Emma Hughes photography for the delightful images.

A 1950s theme wedding

Becky and Andrew tied the knot this weekend in a gorgeous vintage 1950s inspired wedding. The ceremony was held in the fabulous Hollywood cinema complete with axminster carpet and traditional cinema seats ( lots of amusement for the kids). Becky decorated the room with huge paper flowers and ribbons, a whimsical touch which really added to the theme of the day. The reception was equally stunning with vintage plates and cut glass vases filled with old fashioned blooms. Becky, a florist at Roses, looked absolutely stunning as a modern 1950s bride with a filled to the brim bouquet in lemons, creams and white. Here's a peek at some details from the day. More photos to come.

A lovely lemony treat

Always a favourite, these delightful tree paeonies are on their way! From now until the beginning of November we'll be filling wedding bouquets with these romantic old world blooms. Coming in a range of hues from dusky pinks and apricots to crisp whites and lemons.

These romantic bridal bouquets are a mix of lemon tree paeonies, de la creme roses, fragrant stephanotis and cymbidium orchids, just the right thing for a spring bride.

a FLORAL theme for Garnier

Recently we were asked to compliment a new range of Garnier products with some floral theming.
Garden of Garnier was the brief, and here is what we did for the launch of these new products.
Spring is in the air as you can see with the gorgeous blossom used.
We were also asked to do a floral demonstration, to give invited guests some inspiration, and to show you don't always need loads of flowers to create a great look.
